There are hundreds of pasta shapes, each with their own purpose. Short pasta, longpasta, pasta that can be stuffed, pasta for soups - the uses for pasta are endless! There are some shapes and sizes that are better suited for holding sauces in their ridges, while others are better for baked dishes.

Spaghetti mean “a length of cord” in Italian, and is probably the most popular pasta shape. It is very versatile and mixes well with a range of sauces.

Cooking with Wholewheat Spaghetti

Spaghetti is probably best known for being paired with tomato sauce and meatballs, but it can also be a great partner to chunky sauces like bolognese, or with light or cream sauces.

Bring a pan of slightly salted water to the boil, add the spaghetti, turn the heat down and cook for 10-12 minutes until al dente. Drain immediately.
