The coffee beans you brew are actually the processed and roasted seeds from a fruit, which is called a coffee cherry. Even though the coffee beans are seeds, they are referred to as "beans" because of their resemblance to true beans. Coffee trees can grow to more than 9 meters and live up to 100 years!!
These coffee beans have an amazing story of empowerment, hope and female entrepreneurship. This coffee is part of the Cafe Femenino co-op, a project set up by women from Cecanor, Peru to encourage and support female coffee producers. This co-op not only supports and empowers other female coffee producers, but it also provides a path for their daughters and a vision that they can grow up to become leaders in their community—just like their mothers and grandmothers.
This particular coffee is hand harvested, processed at a wet mill, pulped to remove the fruit, washed and finally sun dried. All by women!
Now what does it taste like? The tasting notes include milk chocolate, orange and brown sugar. Why not try some yourself?!

Due to the way our food is stored and packaged, this product may contain traces of other allergens due to cross-contamination.
Your beans’ greatest enemies are air, moisture, heat, and light.
Store in an air tight container in a dark, cool, dry place. A cabinet near the oven is often too warm, and so is a spot on the kitchen counter that gets strong afternoon sun.
To keep the great flavour, use within 14 days. The coffee will keep for up to 6 months but the flavour won't be as good. See best before date.
