Penne means "pen " in Italian and is one of the most popular pasta shapes. It’s large space and ridges make it ideal for retaining sauces.
Cooking with White Penne
Penne pairs well with chunky meat or vegetable-based sauces because its ridges can easily hold the sauce. It also works really well in baked casserole dishes.
Add pasta to a large open pan of boiling salted water, bring back to the boil and simmer for 7 minutes, stirring occasionally. Drain & serve.
