Apricots (also known as Armenian Plums) originated in Central Asia and in their dried form, they became a valued commodity on the Silk Road as they could be transported over long distances.
Apricots naturally contain carotenoids, which, when consumed are converted into vitamin A. Vitamin A helps regulate our immune system. Apricots are also an excellent source of potassium and fibre.
These delicious dried apricots can be eaten as they are, popped into a pilaf with some flaked almonds and raisins, paired with cheese and crackers… there are so many ways to enjoy them!
